The Reason We Camp...

Meet Java, our sweet Shepherd-Hound mix. She is always on board when we travel and in reality, is the real reason we began camping several years ago. She is also the subject of many of my photographs. In her eight years with us, she has become a captive model for me along with our two cats. She loves to camp with us and prefers the ocean to the lakes but does get a little intimidated by the waves. She would just as soon sleep in the camper as go out by the campfire at night. She is the sweetest most rotten dog I know and life would not be the same without her.

We have been home-bound with her since Christmas day when she blew out her knee. She had to have surgery to restore it after a complete tear of her CCL (like an ACL in humans). It has been a long recovery and we are halfway through it and can't wait for the twelve-week mark when we can go back camping as often as possible.
